Streaming Events From Firebase

Set up your app user behavior tracking to know what products they viewed or added to carts, what search words they used, and any other important to your business data. You can use all the collected information for segmentation, targeting and personal recommendations (similar to web tracking for a site).

How to Set Up Tracking

To track users' activity in your mobile app, set up the streaming of relevant data to a BigQuery table, from where it will be automatically sent to eSputnik.

Data transfer scheme

The following instructions will help you set up data transfer to BigQuery:

List of required event types:

  • SCREEN_VIEW — page viewing
  • VIEW_ITEM — product page viewing
  • VIEW_ITEM_LIST — viewing the product list (from the recommendations block)
  • VIEW_CART — cart page viewing
  • ADD_TO_CART — adding items to the cart
  • REMOVE_FROM_CART — removing products from the cart
  • PURCHASE — sale
  • Firebase_campaign — for tracking the following links from triggered campaigns; tracking is carried out by UTM tags (details >>).

It is important to set the user_id for all registered users according to this instruction.

It is also important to update the contact information, namely user_id in the eSputnik account, using the v1/contacts resource.

After setting up data transfer to BigQuery, set up the BigQuery connector in your eSputnik account.

The contact ID is its unique identifier, with the help of which the system identifies a person when they enter the application from different channels, browsers, and devices.

This way, you can collect all the data about the interaction of users with your application and send them omnichannel campaigns.

The system will add all available contact identifiers to the unique contact ID, such as mobile and web tokens, phone number, and email address.
